Dead Benefit

  • Benefit 1: Upto R10000 paid for Dead of a Parent, spouse or Child. We cover only 1 spouse and 5 children in a lifetime . note that for our purpose a spouse is someone you have lived with in the same house for a period of at least 1 year. Your Exs shall not be considered as spouse irrespective of you having stayed with them or have children with them. Contribution per member is R300 for parents and R150
  • Benefit 2: Dead of a Member (R1000 per member. Maximum Dead benefit is R50000)
  • Waiting period: No waiting period for a member, child & parents BUT 3 months waiting period for spouses benefit
  • Qualifying Criteria: Must be a member AND your sinking fund, membership and admin fee must be upto date. NO EXCEPTION

Critical Illness

  • Max payout Amount: Up to R10000. This benefit is increased to R30000 in the event the member suffers from Cancer , Stroke or kidney failure
  • Member Contribution : Each member must contribute R200
  • Method of payment: R1000 paid for every day you are in the hospital
  • Criteria: Must be a member of PIS in good standing and must be critically sick and must have spent at least 3 days in the hospital. Child birth and operations for which a member went on appointment shall not be covered
  • Waiting period: 6 Months

Legal Assistance

Benefit 1: Bail of up to R3000 to a member per case. Maximum is R10000 in a year. Available only to individuals. Member contribution is limited to R100 per case

Benefit 2: Legal fees of up to R10000 per case .  Maximum benefit is R20000 per Per year. Available only to associations, stokvel or Companies. Member contribution is limited to R100 per case

Qualifying Criteria : Must be a member in good standing with all obligations paid.

Waiting period: 1 Year

SPECIAL CONDITIONS TO CLAIM BENEFIT: All members are required to pay a membership fee and an admin fee every year before the end of March of each year. Members are also required to pay their sinking fund within 6 months when it becomes depleted .  Also, a member must have at least R5000 in their investment fund if they have been with us for a period of at least 1 year. The R5000 investment provision shall not apply in the event a member dies. However, in the event of the dead of a member who did not contribute investment fund happens, PIS shall retain 30% as penalty for any benefit they receive. Any member who does not adhere to these provisions would not be covered.

NOTE: All benefits are limited to the contribution per member. For example, if all members are required to contribute R100 and we are 15 members BUT the benefit is upto R3000, you would only receive R1500 ( R100 X 15 members)

NOTE: All replies would be sent to your email or WhatsApp if you do have. Remember to have the most current email on your profile All monies approved to you would first go towards topping up your sinking fund, pay any membership, admin fee or other obligations owed by you and the balance would be paid to you.  The claimed amount SHALL NOT be used to top up or increase your investment fund unless requested by you.
